Kristi M. Gerig
My name is Kristi Gerig. I currently work as a Literacy Coordinator/ Reading Recovery Teacher at Benefield Elementary in Gwinnett County, Georgia. In this capacity, I am responsible for literacy staff development for K-5 teachers as well as screening new students to determine their reading level. In addition, I teach several Reading Recovery students on a daily basis. All together I have taught Reading Recovery for 6 years. Previously, I have taught kindergarten, first grade, and computer technology. Currently, I am working towards my Master's degree at the University of Georgia in school library media.

Tea Time!
In addition to teaching, I am involved with several programs at my church. I teach Sunday School to first grade students, go on annual mission trips, and I am involved with our church Book Club. In my spare time I enjoy reading, traveling and spending time with my family.
At home I have two young children and a cat. I have a little girl who is a rising first grader and a little boy who will be in Pre-K next year.
